LAS VEGAS (January 23, 2025) – For thousands of Southern Nevada families, the dream of high-quality preschool education is becoming a reality, thanks to $15.3 million in scholarships provided by United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) and the Nevada Department of Education through the Nevada Ready! State Pre-K program. This year, they have selected 48 Southern Nevada preschool centers to help 1,819 students enroll in preschool for free or at a reduced cost through the program, paving pathways to educational opportunities for local families.
Since 2015, the Nevada Department of Education and United Way of Southern Nevada have joined forces to provide free preschool to over 7,500 students through the Nevada Ready! State Pre-K program. Through this program, UWSN also provides on-going training for teachers, ensuring classrooms are enriched with the latest teaching techniques.

State Pre-K Program in partnership with the Nevada Department of Education and help more families access free quality preschool for their children,” said Samuel Rudd, UWSN’s President and CEO. “Early education is the foundation for success, and this program opens doors for students to thrive.”
Scholarships will be allocated through qualified centers to families in need, guided by childcare center recommendations and referrals. All participating centers adhere to the Quality Rating Improvement Systems (QRIS) established by the Nevada Department of Education.
The early education centers below have been selected to receive funding to provide scholarships for preschool and pre-k enrollment in Southern Nevada:
