LAS VEGAS — The University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Fine Arts will host a special piano sale in partnership with Southern Nevada Music on January 8–10, 2026. The event will offer the public a rare opportunity to purchase a professionally maintained, university-owned instrument while supporting music education.
The sale will feature a large selection of new and used pianos, including grands, baby grands, uprights, player pianos, and digital models from leading makers such as Steinway & Sons, Boston, Essex, Yamaha, Kawai, Roland and more. All of the instruments have been maintained for university use in rehearsals, performances and practice studios.
A private, appointment-only sale will take place Thursday, Jan. 8, and Friday, Jan. 9, offering priority selection and special pricing. Appointments may be made by calling 702-938-4646. The public sale will follow on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no appointment required. All events will be held at the UNLV College of Fine Arts Beam Music Center, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154.
To make ownership more accessible, no-interest financing for 18 months will be available on-site, and delivery services will be offered. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will directly benefit UNLV music scholarships, helping support students pursuing degrees in music performance, education and related disciplines.
The sale follows a significant milestone for the university: UNLV has now been named an All-Steinway Institution, a distinction shared by more than 200 leading music schools worldwide that are committed to providing students with Steinway-designed instruments throughout their program of study. The achievement was made possible through a generous donation by the KJS Family Foundation, which funded the purchase of new Steinway & Sons pianos across the music department. With the department now fully equipped with new Steinway pianos, select university-maintained instruments are being offered for public purchase as part of the January sale.
According to national All-Steinway program research, schools report that Steinway instruments help enhance performance quality, support competitive readiness and improve student recruitment, reinforcing UNLV’s commitment to artistic excellence and student success.
