Building on the success of its first heart screening event of 2025, Vegas for Athletes is thrilled to announce its second major heart screening event of the year, in collaboration with the Las Vegas Aviators®, the professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League and Triple-A affiliate of the Athletics. Taking place at Las Vegas Ballpark® on Sunday, March 16, 2025, this event marks a pivotal moment in our mission to protect young athletes from sudden cardiac arrest—the leading medical cause of death among young athletes.
With the Las Vegas Aviators officially joining as a sponsor, this event serves as the launch of a pilot program aimed at making heart screenings a consistent and accessible service for young athletes across Las Vegas. The initiative, backed by Larry Brown, Director of Business Development for the Las Vegas Aviators, and Chuck Johnson, General Manager and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Las Vegas Aviators, reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding the health and futures of student-athletes in our community.
“The Aviators are honored to support this life-saving initiative,” said Larry Brown. “As a professional sports organization, we recognize the responsibility we have to young athletes and their families. Partnering with Vegas for Athletes is our way of ensuring that heart screenings become a routine part of an athlete’s journey—not just an afterthought.”
Chuck Johnson echoed this sentiment: “This partnership is just the beginning. We’re not just hosting an event; we’re laying the foundation for something bigger—a program that ensures young athletes in Las Vegas get the heart screenings they need to stay safe and thrive in their sports careers.”
With the continued leadership of Executive Director Troy Roques, Vegas for Athletes is expanding its reach, bringing together medical professionals, community leaders, and sports organizations to champion the cause.
“This partnership with the Las Vegas Aviators is a game-changer,” said Roques. “We are creating a model for how professional sports teams can step up and take action in protecting young athletes. This is more than a one-time event—it’s the start of a movement to make heart screenings standard practice in sports.”
