LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Nevada State Contractors Board welcomes its newest member, Walter Flores- Aguirre, who was appointed by Governor Joe Lombardo to fill the vacancy of outgoing public member Joe Hernandez. Flores-Aguirre’s will serve on the Board through November 30, 2027, at which time his term will be up for reappointment.
Born in El Salvador where he studied Electrical Engineering, Flores-Aguirre moved to the United States at the age of 21 where he found a career in finance. Flores-Aguirre is a Registered Financial Representative with New York Life Insurance focusing on helping families and businesses secure their future through financial planning, asset protection, and tax minimization.
“The Nevada State Contractors Board extends its appreciation to former member Joe Hernandez, who served the Board for over a decade,” shared Executive Officer David Behar. “We are pleased to have the continued financial expertise of Walter Flores-Aguirre and look forward to having his insights and contributions realized in upcoming matters of the Board.”
Flores-Aguirre serves on the Board of Directors for the Latin Chamber of Commerce and the Discovery Children’s Museum. Additionally, he is a member of the Business Advisory Board at Nevada State University and contributes as a Cultural Ambassador for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at his financial firm. He teaches, speaks on podcasts, and holds seminars in collaboration with local leaders, providing valuable insights and resources to the community.
