Nevada’s Zero Fatalities Program is partnering with Lyft to encourage residents and visitors to plan ahead for a safe ride home during Independence Day weekend in Las Vegas and Reno.
“Around the Fourth of July holiday, we often see an increase in impaired drivers on the road,” said Zero Fatalities Program Manager Anita Pepper. “According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2,719 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes during the Fourth of July holiday period from 2020 to 2024, and 38% of the drivers killed were impaired. Every safe ride helps protect lives and moves us closer to our goal of zero fatalities on Nevada’s roads.”
From Saturday, July 4 at 12 p.m. through Sunday, July 5 at 6 a.m., riders can redeem $5 off one Lyft trip using the code SAFERIDEJULY4TH. The offer is available to 300 riders total, one ride per rider, while supplies last. The discount can be redeemed directly in the Lyft app or by visiting: https://www.lyft.com/lp/SAFERIDEJULY4TH.
