After more than four decades of dedicated service to the Henderson community, Dave Beason, CEO of The Muffler Shop, has announced his retirement. Beason’s commitment to excellence in automotive repair and his active involvement in community initiatives have made him a beloved figure in Downtown Henderson’s Historic Water Street District and was instrumental in its transformation.
Established in 1982 by Beason, The Muffler Shop has been a cornerstone of Henderson’s automotive industry for generations. Beason’s leadership and expertise have not only ensured the success of his business but have also contributed to the growth and prosperity of the local community. Throughout his tenure, Beason has fostered a culture of customer satisfaction and technical excellence, earning multiple nominations for “Outstanding Customer Service” from the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.
Beyond his role as a business owner, Beason has been deeply involved in various civic and community organizations. As a former president of the Water Street District and a longstanding member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Beason has been an advocate for the interests of local businesses and families. His contributions extend beyond his business, with his involvement in initiatives such as The Crystal Foundation, a 501C3 he founded, which provides essential support to hundreds of children in need each year.
Beason stepped down from all leadership roles in 2023 to prepare for retirement, after serving on the board of directors for the Henderson Chamber of Commerce for six years, as chair member of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the City of Henderson for 14 years, and as a board member of Business Network International (BNI) for 15 years. Beason will still serve as a commissioner on the City of Henderson Planning Commission, continuing his dedication to community service.
“As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to have served the Henderson community for over 40 years,” said Beason. “It has been an honor to work alongside dedicated colleagues, serve loyal customers, and contribute to the vibrant growth and revitalization of our beloved Water Street District. While I may be stepping back from day to-day operations, my commitment to Henderson remains unwavering. I look forward to cherishing the memories we’ve created and continuing to support the community in new and meaningful ways.”
Despite Beason’s retirement, The Muffler Shop will continue its tradition of excellence under new leadership. The business will relocate from Downtown Henderson, opening the land for the expansion of Emerald Island Casino. In its new location, it will remain open to serve customers, ensuring continuity and quality service for years to come.
