Investors for Transparency Executive Director Jason Huntsberry issued the following statement as debate continues on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act). The group is actively working with Nevada stakeholders and urging Nevada’s congressional delegation to reject the bill in its current form:
“America’s path to innovation and becoming the crypto capital of the world depends on one thing: investor confidence grounded in clear rules and strong safeguards. Durable innovation thrives when investors trust that markets are protected from fraud, scams, and financial crimes. Yet in its current form, the CLARITY Act does the opposite. By creating decentralized finance exemptions from core safeguards, this bill undermines the very investor protections that drive capital and keep innovation in America. Commonsense protections are not barriers to innovation—they’re the foundation that make U.S. financial markets the envy of the world. American investors deserve and expect the same principled approach for digital assets.”
Nevada’s financial organizations, banks, credit unions, financial crimes law enforcement, investigators, labor unions, and others have shared their concerns about the current version of the CLARITY Act with Nevada Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Jacky Rosen (D-NV).
