The Dr. Robert Hunter International Problem Gambling Center (PGC), Nevada’s leading nonprofit dedicated to the treatment of gambling addiction, has officially relocated to a new facility at 7881 West Charleston Blvd., Suite 240 in Las Vegas.
To mark the opening of the new location, PGC welcomed elected officials and members of the media to tour the center and learn more about the life-changing services it provides to those struggling with problem gambling and their loved ones. The open house offered a unique opportunity to see firsthand how the organization supports clients on their journey to recovery.
The Problem Gambling Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive evaluation, individual therapy, and group counseling services to individuals battling gambling addiction, as well as support for their family members and friends—regardless of their ability to pay.
“Our new office allows us to expand access while informing Southern Nevadans that we provide effective counseling for gambling addiction regardless of their ability to pay,” said Stephanie Goodman, Executive Director of the Problem Gambling Center. “This new space strengthens our commitment to helping individuals and families break free from the grip of gambling addiction and reclaim their lives.”
Problem gambling affects approximately 6 percent of Nevadans, a figure significantly higher than the national average. Research has shown that gambling addiction is not a matter of weak willpower, but rather a neurological condition—a result of the way the brain is hardwired.
