LAS VEGAS (Feb. 25, 2026) – Cherry Development and the city of Las Vegas celebrated the groundbreaking of The Good Word Social Club, a transformative project designed to strengthen community connections, support small businesses, and bring new energy to the Historic Westside neighborhood of downtown Las Vegas.
The Good Word Social Club will be built by Cherry Development, which is also building shareWESTSIDE, a new five-story residential apartment building with 100-plus units located next door on the corner of D and Jefferson Streets. The Good Word will serve as the first of its kind gathering space in the Historic Westside bringing dining, entertainment, and community-focused programming together in a welcoming environment built to reflect the neighborhood’s character and future.

The Good Word Social Club is envisioned to be a vibrant hub where residents and visitors can connect, eat and experience local culture. The space will feature a curated mix of local vendors, creating opportunities for small businesses to grow while giving the community a place to gather and celebrate.

The Good Word will offer nearly 9,000 sq. ft. of interior space on two stories including a 2,400 sq. ft. second floor mezzanine. It will have four designated stalls dedicated to small business incubation in the food and beverage industry, indoor/outdoor seating, a stage for live entertainment, and a private dining room.
In addition to Cherry Development, The Good Word has attracted a top-tier project team, including designer/consultant Natural Object, architectural firm Knit, and general contractor Burke.
A total of $8.7 million has been appropriated for the project through the city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency and Neighborhood Services Choice Communities funding, underscoring the city’s long-term commitment to equitable redevelopment in the Historic Westside.
