The holiday season is shining brightly at Sun City Summerlin, where residents came together once again to celebrate creativity, tradition, and community spirit during the Annual Holiday Lights Contest.
Jose Fudotan, a Sun City Summerlin resident since 2017, captured 1st Place this year after earning 2nd and 3rd Place finishes in previous years. His elaborate lighting display earned top honors as voted on by fellow residents, reflecting both artistic dedication and neighborhood pride.
“Every year at Thanksgiving, I decorate our entire house and hold a lighting ceremony with all of my family and friends,” said Fudotan. “It’s a tradition we observe to kick off the holiday season. I’m so proud that our whole Sun City community appreciates our effort and enjoys it too.”
This year’s winners also include Steven M. Miller (2nd Place) and Bob Gilbert and Ron Dill (3rd Place). All three winning displays will be featured in the January edition of LINK Magazine and on the community’s Facebook page.
Additional outstanding participants recognized for their festive displays include Clint & Andrea King, Larry Robbins, Blanca Avila, Alesia & John Cooper, Joan & Steve Soltz, Gale Blanchard, and Kevin Dazey, whose efforts helped create a warm and welcoming holiday experience throughout the neighborhood.
“Our Holiday Lights Contest is special not just for the beautiful displays, but because it reflects how close-knit our community truly is,” said Mitzi Mills, Executive Director of the Sun City Summerlin Community Association. “We invite everyone across the Las Vegas Valley to visit our active adult community and enjoy the holiday lights this season.”
