Fallon, NV – July 30, 2025 – Churchill Fallon Economic Development (CFED) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim R. Barbee as its new Executive Director. A seasoned public servant and dedicated advocate for rural Nevada, Barbee brings a wealth of experience in government, agriculture, and economic development to this critical leadership role.
Jim Barbee is a seven-year resident of Churchill County with deep roots in both local and state government. His background includes serving as Director of the Nevada Department of Agriculture, where he championed statewide initiatives supporting rural economies and food systems. He also held leadership positions at the county level, most recently as Churchill County Manager, where he worked closely with city and county officials to drive infrastructure improvements, public service innovations, and fiscal responsibility.
In addition to his public service, Jim and his family operate a diversified agricultural operation in Fallon, including a registered Angus herd, show pig production, and alfalfa hay. He is also an active supporter of local youth development, volunteering through the Churchill County Junior Livestock Show and other community programs.
As Executive Director of CFED, Barbee will lead efforts to promote business growth, attract new investment, and support economic vitality across Churchill County and the City of Fallon.
