J&V Irie Jerk, the newest sensation in Caribbean cuisine in Las Vegas, marked its grand opening on October 6, 2023, with a celebration that left attendees raving about the delicious food, outstanding live entertainment by The Bonafide Reggae Band, and community spirit.
The grand opening kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special proclamation presented by Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s Lauren Davis, setting the stage for a night that took guests to the island of Jamaica. One of the highlights of the evening was the commitment to philanthropy. J&V Irie Jerk pledged to donate 20% of all proceeds generated during the grand opening event to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support and assistance to families and children battling pediatric cancer. This commitment to giving back underscored the restaurant’s dedication to making a meaningful impact within the community it serves.
“The grand opening was a celebration of culture, community, and culinary excellence,” said Virginia Toalepai, co-owner of J&V Irie Jerk. “My partner Junior Roots and I wanted to bring a piece of the Caribbean to Las Vegas, and the overwhelming response from our guests tells us we succeeded. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, and it’s just the beginning of our commitment to making a positive impact in our city.”
J&V Irie Jerk’s grand opening was a remarkable success, drawing together food enthusiasts, music lovers, community and philanthropists to celebrate a fusion of flavors and cultures.
