Las Vegas filmmaker Adam Kilbourn has just put the finishing touches on his first feature, “Action! Action!,” a Las Vegas story that involves a group of friends hired by the Mob to steal Al Capone’s last remaining painting from the Mob Museum in Las Vegas. “Action! Action!” features downtown Las Vegas and includes scenes inside the Mob Museum, Circa Resort & Casino, Fremont Street Experience and the Plaza Hotel & Casino. The Cast, Crew and Production team is made up entirely of Las Vegas residents, and the film was shot and produced exclusively in Las Vegas.
“We love Las Vegas. We live and work here and wanted to make a movie where the city was one of the stars,” says Kilbourn.
Kilbourn, a UNLV Grad and 26 year local, stars in the film alongside Hollywood actor and UNLV professor Clarence Gilyard (Matlock, Die Hard, Top Gun, Walker, Texas Ranger). It was a dream of Gilyard’s to act in a film with his students. Sadly, Gilyard passed away in 2022 shortly after finishing principal photography. The film also involves other notable Hollywood talent, such as stunt coordinator Andrew Comrie-Picard (Atomic Blonde, Dead Pool 2, Hobbs and Shaw) and pyrotechnician David Barker (Marvel/Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay).
Kilbourn, president of Las Vegas-based Black Raven Films, will host an intimate premiere at 6 on Nov. 9 at Notoriety inside Neonopolis, 450 Fremont Street, Suite 380, in downtown Las Vegas, and then hits the film festival circuit to find a distribution partner.
Kilbourn is available to discuss the movie, his strategy for marketing the film, the talent involved, as well as how he created multi-million-dollar production value on a sub-million-dollar budget, which included downtown car chases/crashes, home/car explosions, Kungfu fights and gun battles for the film.
