<Local auto repair and body shop chosen by national nonprofit to support veterans>
Las Vegas-based Universal Motorcars was recently chosen by the National Auto Body Council (NABC), a national nonprofit for the collision repair industry, to support its “Recycled Rides” program. Under the program, Universal Motorcars will repair and restore two vehicles with both body and mechanical issues. Each car will then be donated to a program serving veterans.
“It’s an honor to be chosen by the NABC. When they first called, it was one car that needed repair, then they asked if we could work on a second one. I was happy to do it,” said Universal Motorcars Owner Victor Botnari.
The vehicles, a 2019 Ford Edge and a 2019 Nissan Sentra, were both involved in fender benders and are in need of mechanical maintenance and repair. Botnari, who will invest roughly $4,000 in parts and labor for each vehicle, will have the vehicles fully restored and on display at the Nov. 5-8 SEMA show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is a 7,000-member nonprofit whose members are companies that create, buy, sell and use specialty-automotive parts. After the show, NABC will donate the vehicles to a veteran charity of its choice.
