The National Junior Honor Society members of Las Vegas Day School will be continuing their commitment of improving the community by planting 15 mature trees in Firefighters Memorial Park, November 15 at 9am. It is the second year that Las Vegas Day School has donated to the park. In 2021, Las Vegas Day School commemorated their 60th anniversary by planting 60 trees at Firefighters Memorial Park.
LVDS wants to continue this tradition and teaching their students the importance of philanthropy. After planting trees in conjunction with the City of Las Vegas, LVDS students will be picking up trash around the park. Assistant Director Karli Daseler said, “LVDS has always encouraged our students to be positive contributors to the city that we love. Through community events such as this or community service as part of our graduation requirements we believe that each of our students can play a significant role in the betterment of our community”. The event will be sponsored by Get Outdoors Nevada.
