Esteemed Chefs Jay Bogsinske from Hamptons LV versus Matt Fresinski of V&E Restaurant Group bring the Heat to Just Add Water Street

HENDERSON, NV – Last Friday’s culinary competition sizzles this September as two, area chefs battle it out, Fri. Sept. 27. Attendees will be able to cool off from the street heat and enjoy street-side entertainment, food vendors, retail pop-ups, live music and more from 6-10 p.m. and have a chance to cheer on some of Las Vegas’s most adored, local chef talent vying to claim victory.
This month’s entertainment schedule includes:
Pinecrest Academy Orchestra: 6-6:30 pm
Saxophonist Diego Morales: 6:30-7 pm
Live Chef Challenge with beats by DJ SheepXWolf: 7-8:30 pm
Las Vegas Bandits Band: 9-10 pm
Just steps away from the main stage, the teams of two will be provided proteins furnished by Mikuni Harvest. They’ll then have to create two plates in less than 45 minutes.
The two competitors set to go head-to-head is V&E Restaurant Group’s Executive Chef Matt Fresinski, versus Californian born-and-bred culinary master, Jay Bogsinske. Headlining as host for this month’s chef challenge will be TC Martin, Sports Talk Radio Host, of KSHP 1400’s TCMartin Show.
And it doesn’t just stop there as every great cooking competition comes a top-notch lineup of judges that will sit front and center on the main stage. They will be escorted away from the action while the chefs work their magic and prepare their plates, only to return for a blind tasting to add to all the excitement! Included in the reserved set of three spots is Chef Nelson Berrios of Mercato Della Pescheria, victor from last month’s challenge. The second judge to occupy the table is Greg Thilmont, food and travel writer and co-author of Eating Las Vegas: The 50 Essential Restaurants. Berrios and Thilmont will be escorted away as each chef team prepares their plate, only to return for a blind tasting to add to all the excitement!
Area sponsors include The City of Henderson and a few community-driven partners such as the Las Vegas Weekly, Findlay Volkswagen of Las Vegas, Lotus Family Broadcasting and Station Casinos. There is no general admission to the Last Friday, JAWS and is free to the public. The community festival begins at 6 p.m., and the live chef challenge kicks off at 7 p.m. Last Friday was founded to resurrect and celebrate the community’s emerging arts footprint.
