
LAS VEGAS, NEV – (May 28, 2025) —The Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE (Mayor’s Fund), a vehicle for the private sector to support key city initiatives that improve quality of life for City of Las Vegas residents with particular focus on vulnerable populations, announces a $20,000 donation from Toyota Financial Savings Bank. The donation is earmarked to support the Strong Future Youth Employment program, housed in the Strong Future Technology Training Center, a workforce development program of the City of Las Vegas designed to prepare teens and young adults for future employment. The donation brings the total support provided by Toyota Financial Savings Bank to the Mayor’s Fund to more than $80,000, helping to underwrite various workforce development and early childhood education programs.
The donation, officially presented to the Mayor’s Fund on May 27 at the Cox Innovation Lab in the Historic Westside, was presented by Christie McCart of Toyota Financial Savings Bank to Mayor’s Fund CEO Sallie Doebler and Mayor’s Fund Vice Chair Will Rucker, along with Mayor Shelley Berkley, City of Las Vegas, and Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong representing Ward 5. Also present for a brief check presentation ceremony were leaders from the City of Las Vegas: Dr. Tammy Malich, director of youth development and social innovation; Sheena Judie-Mitchell, workforce development officer; and Sabra Newby, deputy city manager.
