A new organization, the Center for the Future of Learning (CFL), has launched to prepare Nevada’s learners to thrive in their careers and contribute to their communities today and tomorrow. Built on the belief that learning must evolve as quickly as the world around it, CFL aims to connect educators, young people, and community leaders to build and amplify ideas that nurture essential skills for personal and community growth.
“We believe that learning innovation drives economic vitality and community strength,” said Jeanine Collins, Co-Founder and Chief Impact Officer of the Center for the Future of Learning. “Our goal is to bring our community together to reimagine what’s possible for young people and educators in Nevada. We want to foster opportunities that prepare learners for success in a world that is continuously changing.”
Launching a New Era of Learning
On March 26, CFL officially launched with an event at The Beverly Theater, uniting education leaders and community advocates to unveil the nonprofit and its vision for the future of learning in Nevada.
“Nevada is home to big thinkers and doers. At our launch, we had a chance to dream alongside luminaries and leaders and share why CFL exists—to connect, build, and amplify bold solutions for the future of learning,” said Sean Parker, Co-Founder & CEO of the Center for the Future of Learning. “This event was more than a celebration; it was a call to action for everyone invested in reimagining education and positioning Nevada as a leader in learning innovation.”
The event was co-hosted by esteemed leaders and supporters of education, including Lindy Schumacher, Kris Engelstad, Craig Galati, Lauri Perdue, Gina Bongiovi, Alex Bybee, and Tya Mathis-Coleman. Together, they helped set the stage for CFL’s work to empower young people, educators, and communities in shaping a learning ecosystem that fosters innovation, economic vitality, and long-term success.
Guided by Strong Leadership, Proven Track Record
Founded by a coalition of educators, innovators, and community leaders, CFL is dedicated to being a catalyst for positive change in Nevada’s educational landscape. Parker and Collins, along with their team, have 50+ combined years of experience in the fields of education, nonprofit, and innovation, and a track record of impactful work under the umbrella of ed.Xtraordinary including helping to create the Portrait of a Nevada Learner and launch the Nevada Future of Learning Network with the Nevada Department of Education. The team also worked as the Research and Development arm of Teach for America Nevada. Now, an independent nonprofit, CFL aims to build upon its work to further Nevada as a global hub where learning innovation drives economic vitality and community strength.
Through partnerships with schools, local organizations, and policymakers, the nonprofit empowers communities to design their learning future, co-create innovation solutions, develop personalized teaching methods and implement pathways for young people to build skills and prepare for careers.
