Committed to reaching out to the Historic Westside community, shareWESTSIDE, a new five-story residential apartment building with 100-plus units located on the corner of D and Jefferson Streets, will debut its interest list for prospective tenants at “Love on Jackson” on Saturday, Feb. 21 from noon to 3 p.m.
“We are excited to be part of Love on Jackson where we can meet members of the community and show them everything that shareWESTSIDE will offer when it opens in the Historic Westside later this year,” said Sam Cherry, CEO of Cherry Development, which launched the shareDOWNTOWN apartment brand to create more residential housing options in downtown Las Vegas. “shareWESTSIDE is a partnership with the Historic Westside community for us, and we want the people of the Historic Westside to have the first chance to join our interest list about leasing opportunities when they open this spring.”
Cherry added that community has been at the heart of the prior two shareDOWNTOWN projects in the Arts District and Fremont East. “We are proud that the project will reflect the people, history and culture of the Westside community,” Cherry noted that many of the project’s partners are small businesses in the Westside community and shareWESTSIDE will incorporate items salvaged from the New Jerusalem church, which previously occupied the building’s site.
At Love on Jackson, shareWESTSIDE will have its interest list along with renderings, floor plans of the building’s one-bedroom unit, details about the building’s amenities, and information about the various social activities the company sponsors on a regular basis to build community among tenants. shareWESTSIDE will be located inside the Neighborhood Porch trailer sponsored by the city of Las Vegas, which will also have information about the co-located retail space and the adjacent 9,000 sq. ft. market hall that house food and beverage vendors on two stories.
shareWESTSIDE will have 104 one-bedroom units, 84 of which will be designated for workforce housing, with rents starting at $1275 per month. It will also offer residents enhanced amenities such as a large co-working space, fitness center, public hospitality space, open-air courtyard, and movie screening room.
Love on Jackson is an annual block party sponsored by the Jackson Street Alliance in collaboration with the city of Las Vegas to celebrate the spirit of Jackson Avenue and the revitalization efforts through the HUNDRED Plan in Action. It will offer free food (while supplies last), live entertainment, youth activities, local vendors, a car and motorcycle show, and a farmers’ market.
