Business growth and increased community involvement were key goals in 2022 for Miles Reynolds, CEO of Sport Court Las Vegas. To support the company’s emphasis on giving, Reynolds created an important partnership with the nonprofit Southern Nevada Pickleball Club(SNP). The move has benefitted Las Vegas Valley schools and local veteran and first responder groups and will continue to do so into 2023.
Most recently, in December, the two entities partnered to build four pickleball courts at Billy & Rosemary Vassiliadis Elementary School, in Las Vegas. Sport Court Las Vegas provided the paint for the pickleball court surfaces and expertise to help work teams paint the courts’ lines, while SNP worked with other donors to get nets, paddles, and game balls.
The partners did the same for R. Guild Gray Elementary School, where another four pickleball courts were installed in October, and also helped build two courts at Henderson’s Lake Mead Christian Academy in September. They also plan to build two more courts at the school next year. Sport Court Las Vegas is also in the process of purchasing a line marking machine, valued at $2,500, dedicated to building more new courts for the community.
“As a player who is passionate about the game, I’m proud to help grow the sport of pickleball, and there’s really no better way to do that than by exposing it to Valley youth,” Reynolds said.
In November, Reynolds’ company also sponsored the Las Vegas Heroes Open, held at Sunset Regional Park Pickleball Complex, on November 10-13 to honor and benefit veterans and first responders. Las Vegas Sport Court donated a practice court for participants to use and organized fundraising challenges at the event. Proceeds from the fundraisers benefitted SNP’s local veterans’ programs, Clark County Fire’s “Proud to Rescue” fund, and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s “Law Enforcement Assistance” fund.
“Since we’ve started this partnership, Miles’ whole attitude has been all about giving back to the community,” added Patti Chess, SNP’s director. “Pickleball is great for youth. It’s an easy game to learn and brings a minimal cost, and it promotes good sportsmanship and positive interactions.”
