The Ability Center of Southern Nevada, in collaboration with Betty’s Village and the Las Vegas Grand Prix, is proud to present Race Day Arcade, an inclusive and immersive race-themed celebration taking place Friday, November 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Betty’s Village.
Created to deliver the excitement of race weekend directly to the community, members of The Ability Center of Southern Nevada and residents of Betty’s Village will enjoy a race-themed video arcade, interactive activities, and a live connection to the Las Vegas Grand Prix main grandstand through telepresence Awabots—advanced robots that allow participants to virtually navigate and experience the race environment in real time.
The event will feature food, dancing, a live race stream, and a Best Racer Costume Contest, offering a fun and fully accessible Race Day environment for guests of all abilities.
“For our members, this event isn’t just about racing—it’s about access, inclusion, and experiencing something they may never have had the chance to see firsthand,” said Chris Salas, Founder of The Ability Center of Southern Nevada. “We’re grateful to the Las Vegas Grand Prix and Betty’s Village for helping us create a Race Day Arcade that ensures everyone can be part of the excitement.”
Like the competition’s cars, the two telepresence Awabots have traveled throughout the championship circuit this season, bringing joy to young fans across the globe. Their purpose directly supports Las Vegas Grand Prix’s commitment to community impact:
- Creating meaningful local impact by providing hospitalized children and youth near race circuits an uplifting, immersive experience.
- Expanding inclusive opportunities for young fans living with severe illnesses or disabilities by giving them virtual access to race environments.
