Carson City, NV — Travel Nevada will host a Tenant & Tour Operator Workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nevada State Railroad Museum for businesses interested in leasing space at the new Nevada Adventure Center in Carson City.
Travel Nevada has announced two Nevada Adventure Centers — one in Carson City and another in Boulder City. Expected to open in early fall 2026, the Nevada Adventure Center in Carson City is an all-new hub designed to connect visitors with northern Nevada’s outdoor experiences. Serving as a base camp for tour operators and outfitters, the center will provide trip-planning resources, safety and conservation information, and direct connections to guided tours, gear, and other adventure services — all supported by Travel Nevada’s statewide marketing to drive year-round traffic.
“The Nevada Adventure Center in Carson City will be a gateway to northern Nevada’s diverse outdoor experiences,” said Rafael Villanueva, CEO of Travel Nevada. “It will give visitors the tools, guidance, and connections they need to explore safely and responsibly, while offering businesses and tour operators a unique opportunity to reach new audiences and grow alongside Nevada’s outdoor recreation economy.”
The Nevada Adventure Centers will offer leasing opportunities for businesses seeking to reach a highly engaged audience of adventure travelers. Tenants will have the chance to showcase their services through interactive displays, demo areas, and co-branded marketing campaigns, creating direct connections with visitors eager to explore the region.
The Carson City location was selected for its accessibility to Lake Tahoe and northern Nevada’s outdoor opportunities. Travel Nevada’s other Nevada Adventure Center in Boulder City is located adjacent to the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce and noted for its accessibility to Lake Mead. Together, the projects represent close to $7 million in investment on existing state-owned land.
“The Nevada Adventure Centers are designed to strengthen the connection between Nevada’s outdoor recreation industry and the travelers who fuel it,” said Carrie Roussel, Nevada Adventure Centers Facilities Coordinator. “By creating new opportunities for visitors to engage with local guides and businesses, this initiative reinforces our commitment to tourism while showcasing the landscapes and experiences that set Nevada apart.”
Outdoor recreation continues to be a driving force in Nevada’s tourism economy. In 2024, outdoor recreation spending increased by about $100 million, reaching $1.8 billion. Visitation to Nevada State Parks, Great Basin National Park, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area totaled 10.5 million in 2024, an increase of about 2.9% from 2023.
