The Reno Wine Walk has gone virtual
Help support Reno Riverwalk District during the Reno Wine Lock, on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a perfect occasion to show your appreciation for community, and wine, while being socially distant.
WHAT: Reno “Wine-Lock” Virtual Wine Tour and Mystery Grab Bag
WHEN: Saturday, September 19 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
COST: $30 per bag, Must be 21 years old
For more than 2-decades, the Reno Wine Walk has brought hundreds, if not thousands of locals and tourists, to the downtown Riverwalk. Each month portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over eight years, the event organizers have donated more than $105,000 to local non-profits alone.
The event had run since 2002 rain or shine, until this past March when event organizers were forced to close due to COVID. The event provides a reliant revenue stream to local businesses, and a small donation to local non-profits.
Guests can pre-purchase admission online. What do you get? Each purchase is valued at over $50. It is filled with 2 Mystery bottles of wine, a DIY wine glass to design, substantial discounts, stickers, and promotional information from the downtown businesses. Money from the event will go towards supporting the organizations efforts to promote the Riverwalk District to locals and Tourists, and to contribute to the Riverwalk Relief fund as a way to provide marketing support during this time of closure.
Attendees are urged to purchase the bags and celebrate while remaining safely socially distant. Each bag is filled with different contents making the purchase from month-to-month even more fun. The event will continue through the end of the year until the Wine Walk can resume at full capacity.
